home March 2007: Report by Helen McHughAn excellent talk was given by Denzil Lush last night at the Holiday Inn Birmingham which was well attended with over 75 people present. Our best yet.
It was very useful to hear his views on judging capacity and acting in a patient's best interests using examples of cases he has dealt with over the years, it made it very amusing and helped us understand the words used in the act.
Two hours was unfortunately not really long enough to cover everything and deal with the many questions but Denzil was happy to hand around afterwards and continue talking to members. In hindsight I would have booked a three hour slot.
