2. Arranging for members in different areas of your region to alert you to any press items relating to the elderly so that an appropriate response can be made. It is recommended that such letters are sent almost by return as speed is really of the essence. ‘Old news is no news’. Jennifer Margrave would be happy to give guidance on the way the letter is drafted if necessary.
3. Liaise with doctors, psychiatrists, nursing homes, and other organisations for the elderly in your area. Write to your local branches of Help the Aged, Age Concern, and Alzheimer’s Association to notify them that there is a SFE Regional Group in their area and that you can provide them with numbers.
4. Notify your local Law Society and work with them to circulate information to other lawyers in your area.
