CPD Lecture - Obtaining NNS continuing healthcare funding for your client or their estate -

30 November

This is a joint Norfolk and Norwich Law Society and Solicitors for the Elderly event, and if it is successful we hope it will be the first of many.

Details of the seminar are as follows:

Obtaining NNS continuing healthcare funding for your client or their estate by dealing effectively with: Your local hospital, Primary Care Trust, Strategic Health Authority, Local Authority, The Health Service Ombudsman, and the Dept of Health. The seminar will cover the following questions:

  • Is your client entitled to full NHS payment of their nursing home place or nursing care at home?
  • Can you challenge the eligibility criteria of your Health Authority?
  • What is the complaints procedure of your PCT and Strategic Health Authority?
  • The Health Service Ombudsman's report of February 2003 - How can you use it?
  • How do you take a case to the Health Service Ombudsman?
  • Failing full funding, what else is there?

There are questionnaires for use in the office and flow charts to make the process more comprehensible.
The session includes case studies and adopts a very practical approach

The speaker, Mrs Liz Holdworth is Head of Regional Groups on the SFE National Executive and a Consultant with Wace Morgan, Solicitors in Shrewsbury.
